Honest answer — No.
Charaka Samhita does not prescribe turmeric as a daily morning drink for everyone. Classical texts use Haridra as:
⚠️ A medicinal herb — used for specific conditions, specific duration, specific dose ⚠️ A cooking spice — added to warm food and cooked preparations ⚠️ A topical application — Lepa for skin conditions ⚠️ A specific formulation — combined with other herbs for therapeutic purpose

The Problem with Daily Haldi Water:
🌿 Virya concern — Haridra is Ushna — heating in potency. Daily warm turmeric water every morning on empty stomach can aggravate Pitta over time — causing acidity, skin rashes, loose motions and increased internal heat
🌿 Matra concern — classical texts prescribe turmeric in very small quantities — typically 1 to 3 grams maximum as a therapeutic dose. Most people add far more than this to their morning water without realising
🌿 Anupana concern — in classical texts turmeric is rarely prescribed alone in water. It is almost always combined with a suitable Anupana — carrier — such as warm milk, ghee or honey depending on the condition being treated. Plain water is not the ideal carrier for turmeric's fat soluble active compounds
🌿 Modern concern — Curcumin — turmeric's active compound — is fat soluble. Taken in plain water without fat it is poorly absorbed. Modern research confirms curcumin bioavailability increases significantly when taken with fat — ghee or milk — and black pepper — Piperine
🌿 Who should avoid — Pitta dominant individuals, anyone with acidity, gastritis, loose motions or inflammatory gut conditions should be especially cautious with daily turmeric water on empty stomach

So What Is The Classical Way To Take Turmeric?
✅ In cooking — add a small pinch to warm cooked food daily. This is the safest, most bioavailable and most classically authentic way to consume turmeric
✅ Haldi Doodh — Golden Milk — warm milk with a small pinch of turmeric and ghee. This is the classical Anupana for turmeric — fat soluble curcumin absorbed optimally. Best taken at night before sleep
✅ With honey — for specific respiratory and skin conditions — small pinch of turmeric mixed with raw honey. Never heated
✅ With ghee — for joint and inflammatory conditions — small pinch of turmeric with warm ghee
✅ Matra — correct dose — classical texts recommend a maximum of 1 to 3 grams — approximately half to one teaspoon — per day. Never more
